Game Change...Because I'm Not Watching The Grammys

Last day of hibernation. I'm all about the politics and finally got to watch Mistress Julianne as Sarah Palin in Game Change. I'll say first that I was never pro-Palin, but I'm always interested in the minds of those who think the way she does.

You notice right away that J-Moore's transformation is frightening. She is Palin without going bananas. You kind of forget anyone else is in the movie because she's so perfect. The script is mediocre, Ed Harris doesn't even try to be McCain, cliche is everywhere--though it's all highly enjoyable, especially since you learn more about an exciting period.

This movie makes Palin a bit more sympathetic, less of a caricature. Like Dish, she had a fourth grade knowledge of foreign policy. That's really sad (and she's not alone in politics). After an initial show of strength, she had a downward spiral and I would have too. It was a ridiculous amount of pressure on someone so completely unqualified for higher office, sort like putting Dish on Wall Street (though I'm eerily close).

I Swear I Didn't Get This For Myself...

I don't usually go for straight chocolate. There has to be something gooey or crunchy inside. Like say, a Snickers, Milky Way or Twix--except Three Musketeers makes me gag (unless frozen). TG brought me home this Godiva, perhaps to fatten up my finger so I can slip my engagement ring back on. Sure, no problem. Wolfed it down in three bites. Pancakes tomorrow, too.

Caught this adorable Jimmy Kimmel episode where Matt Damon takes over the show and brings on some frightening people. Some of those faces aren't real. Sad Hollywood downward spiral.

Sarah Palin and Fox have parted company. She's not been in the news as much lately. I fear she'll return to campaign but also think it's too late for her. There has been too much stupid under the bridge.

More murmurings about Angelina being pregnant with seventh child. Knitting a baby blanket for them.

A Weiner Is Born...

Congratulations to Anthony Weiner and Huma Abedin for their latest addition, Jordan Zane Weiner. I'm too sophisticated to put forth alternative baby names for their little tyke (Ima, Don Tuchmie, Ura Bigue). He'll already get a lot of sh*t.

Glam-popster Adam Lambert was arrested for brawling with his boyfriend in Finland. Sounds like Adam has a case of the boozies, which might prove detrimental to his career. I lost interest after American Idol but had great hopes he'd join Queen. Dish will put on her serious hat with this message: Once your lover hits you or Tweets his wang, pack those bags and get out.

Just saw the teaser for Game Change starring Julianne Moore as Sarah Palin: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4YlDkCIoIs. I love Julianne mostly because she's a gingie and I saw her in person and she was this bubbly chatty cathy when she seems all acty on film. It's one dinky line, but she gave me chills. Is Ed Harris even trying? Haven't forgiven him for not crying during Stepmom, yet his performance in Milk Money is unmatched.

Star Sighting--Justine Bateman!!!

11:34 am, Barclay and Broadway: Headed to the gym, Dish spotted a normal looking woman in her forties who'd been through some sh*t. Why it's Family Ties actress Justine Bateman! She wore sunglasses and dark jeans, walking with someone else and saying, "...wild animal..." The mind could go places but I thought of only the miles I had to run.

And not to be repetitive, blessings on the life and work of Steve Jobs who, if you've been living under a rock, passed away. He was definitely one of those Howard Roarks--a creator beyond our wildest dreams. Jobs helped me see a giant red flag in one of my exes who chose iPhone over Dish, Jobs made music more accessible and, lastly, he has allowed me to travel without hauling a gigantic, heavy laptop. I have thirteen more years to change the world. At least Jesus did this in only 33 years.

Speaking of blessings: Sarah Palin is not running for president. The women have been blasted out of the presidential race. Thank goodness, right?

10 days until: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i8xxmNHYdsU.

Star Sighting--Rhea Perlman!!!

3:15 pm, between 18th and 19th on Seventh Avenue. I crawled my way home after a run and saw Carla from Cheers, pulling her hood over her face to deflect the rain. Love her! Would she have cared if I'd told her how much Born to Run by Christopher MacDougall was inspiring me? Maybe not.

Lots o' procreatin' and recreatin': Can you believe Hillary Duff is preggo? I'm shocked they'd let a sixteen-year-old have sex. Oh wait...maybe she's aged since The Perfect Man starring her and Heather Locklear (who got engaged this weekend). Partying aficionado Tara Reid got married hours after being engaged to Zack Kehayov. Efficient! Jessica Alba popped out a girl.

Today's Douchefest: Michele Bachmann, Rick Perry are thoroughly running for Prez. Bachmann is way smarter than Palin but, yish, she answered very few of David Gregory's questions on Meet The Press. Does she not realize how antiquated her views are? And Rick Perry's syrup fulfilled my sugar quota for the day. Americans must be smart enough to see through both of them. I don't see a single viable candidate anywhere (Hillary?).

Indiana State Fair stage collapsed, killing five and injuring countless others. Too sad for words.
